1. Who provides the app

Final OBD is an app by Manuel Lorenzo Brizuela (Normantia), tax ID (NIF) 71145038N, Calle Baltalasaguas 12, Urb. El Peregrino, 47151 Boecillo (Valladolid), Spain. Contact: info@finalobd.com. By installing and using it you accept these terms, as well as those of the store you download it from (Google Play or the App Store).

2. What it is

An app for Android and iPhone that connects to a car’s control units through a Bluetooth OBD2 reader and shows data, faults and workshop functions. To use it with a car you need a compatible reader, which isn’t included. On iPhone, the reader has to be Bluetooth LE (BLE).

3. Versions and prices

Prices include VAT. Payment is made inside the app through Google Play or the App Store, which take the payment. There are no subscriptions and no renewing charges: Pro and Workshop are paid for once and are yours for good. The purchase is linked to your Google or Apple account and you can restore it on another phone running the same system with the same account.

Which features you get on your car depends on the make, the model and the control units it has. Check the makes and models table and try Free before you buy.

4. Refunds

Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple, depending on where you bought, and follow their rules and time limits. This doesn’t take away any of the rights the law gives you as a consumer. If you have a problem with a purchase, write to us as well and we’ll look into it.

5. A measuring tool, not a certified instrument

Final OBD shows what the car tells it and explains it as best it can, but it isn’t an approved or certified device. It doesn’t replace the MOT or roadworthiness test, a garage or the manufacturer’s documentation. Readings can be affected by the reader, the car or the phone.

6. Changes to the control units, at your own risk

Reading data and faults doesn’t change the car. Clearing faults, running service functions, doing component tests, changing settings and using one-tap changes do write to the control units or move parts. Only do it if you know what you’re doing, with the car stationary somewhere safe, the ignition on and the battery in good shape. A bad adaptation or an interruption halfway through a write can leave a feature not working or a control unit not responding.

You decide on those changes and you make them, and they are your responsibility. Some may affect the manufacturer’s warranty or the vehicle’s type approval; find out first.

7. Cars locked by the manufacturer

Some manufacturers protect their control units so that only their own equipment can write to them. This is the case, among others, with Stellantis since 2018, the Volkswagen group since 2020 and some recent Mercedes, Renault and Nissan models. On those cars Final OBD can read, but not change anything. That isn’t a fault in the app and doesn’t in itself give a right to a refund, because it’s stated here and in the app.

8. While you’re driving

Watch the road, not the screen. Set up the gauge layouts with the car stationary. The acceleration and braking timers are for tracks or places closed to traffic, never for public roads. Always follow the traffic rules of the country you’re driving in.

9. Warranty and liability

We work to make the app work well and improve it often, but we can’t promise it will work with every car, reader and phone, or that it will be free of errors. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for damage caused by misuse, by changes the user makes to the car, by faulty readers or by faults in the vehicle itself. None of this limits your rights as a consumer or any liability the law doesn’t allow to be excluded.

10. Changes to the app and to these terms

The app gets updated and the list of cars keeps growing. We may change features and these terms; if the change is important, we’ll announce it in the app or here with a date. Whatever you’ve already paid for, you keep.

11. Law and courts

Spanish law applies. If you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence will have jurisdiction. Before it comes to that, write to us at info@finalobd.com.
