What P2108 means

The electronic accelerator is run by a control module that constantly checks everything is responding properly. This code means the throttle control module is failing those performance checks. Quite often the root cause is a poor power supply, and sometimes a faulty throttle body or the module itself.

Most common causes

  • Low battery voltage, loose terminals or an alternator not charging well
  • A poor engine or ECU ground
  • Dirty or loose throttle body or ECU connectors
  • A carboned up or worn throttle body
  • The module itself has failed, which may need reprogramming or replacement

  • Engine or throttle warning light on
  • Reduced power or limp mode
  • Unstable idle or jerky driving

How to check it

Use a live data reader to watch battery voltage with the engine running: if it is well below the usual range (around 13.5 to 14.5 V), a charging problem may be behind the code.
