P2107: Throttle actuator control module processor fault

The module that runs the throttle has found an error in its own internal calculations. It may be unstable supply voltage or a faulty module.

What P2107 means

The electronic accelerator is run by a control module (often the engine ECU itself) that constantly checks itself. This code means it has found an internal processor error, so it no longer trusts itself and puts the car into limp mode. Before blaming the module, rule out power supply problems.

Most common causes

  • Low battery voltage, loose terminals or a battery on its way out
  • A poor engine or ECU ground
  • Dirty, loose or damp ECU connectors
  • A one-off glitch after a jump start or a voltage spike
  • The module itself has failed, which may need reprogramming or replacement

Symptoms

  • Engine or throttle warning light on
  • Reduced power or forced idle
  • In some cases the engine will not start or cuts out

Check the battery and tighten terminals and ground straps. If the code comes back after clearing with a healthy battery, note whether it appears at start-up or while driving: that helps the garage decide if the module is at fault.
