P0454: EVAP system pressure sensor intermittent signal
The ECU sees the fuel vapour pressure sensor signal dropping out or jumping around. A loose wire or connector is the usual culprit.

What P0454 means
The EVAP system captures petrol vapour from the tank and feeds it to the engine to be burnt instead of venting it. A pressure sensor watches that circuit so leaks can be spotted. This code means its signal keeps cutting out or jumping to values that make no sense.
Most common causes
- Loose, dirty or corroded connector on the pressure sensor
- Chafed or trapped wiring near the fuel tank, where the sensor is often fitted
- Poor earth or supply to the sensor
- Faulty pressure sensor

- Engine warning light on
- The car usually drives exactly as normal
- May appear alongside other EVAP fault codes

Watch the live EVAP pressure reading while someone gently wiggles the sensor wiring: if the value jumps, the fault is in the wire or connector.
