P0452: EVAP pressure sensor circuit low

The ECU is getting a voltage from the fuel tank pressure sensor that is below the possible range. Almost always wiring, connector or sensor.

What P0452 means

The tank pressure sensor monitors fuel vapour so the ECU can detect leaks. Its signal has gone below the normal range, which points to an electrical problem: wiring, connector, earth or the sensor itself.

Most common causes

  • Loose or corroded sensor connector
  • Broken signal wire or 5 volt supply wire
  • Signal wire shorted to earth
  • Faulty pressure sensor

  • No change in how it drives

How to check it

With the ignition on and the fuel cap open, check tank pressure on your reader: it should read close to zero. If it sits at minimum, check the sensor connector, usually on top of the tank or by the canister.
