P0627: Fuel pump A control: circuit open or faulty
The ECU detects a fault or a break in the circuit that switches the fuel pump on. Usually the relay, a fuse, the wiring or the pump itself.

What P0627 means
The ECU switches the fuel pump on, sometimes directly and sometimes through a relay or a separate pump control module. This code means that control circuit is open or not responding properly. Exactly which pump is A is up to each manufacturer.

- Faulty fuel pump fuse or relay
- Pump or pump module plug loose or corroded
- Broken wire between the ECU and the pump or its module
- Faulty fuel pump control module
- Faulty fuel pump
Symptoms
- Engine warning light on
- Engine will not start, or starts and stalls
- Hesitation or lack of power when accelerating
- No pump hum when you switch the ignition on
Can you drive with P0627?
Better not The engine could cut out suddenly while driving through lack of fuel. Best not to drive until it has been checked.
How to check it
Switch the ignition on without starting and listen for a short hum from the pump near the fuel tank. If you hear nothing, check the pump fuse and relay before suspecting the pump itself.
