P0643: Sensor reference voltage A: circuit high
The 5 volt supply the ECU feeds to several sensors is too high. Usually a wire shorted to a positive feed or a faulty plug.

What P0643 means
The ECU powers several sensors with a fixed voltage, usually 5 volts, called reference A. This code means that voltage is higher than normal. Usually the reference wire is touching another wire with a higher voltage, or an earth has failed.
Most common causes
- Reference wire touching a 12 volt wire
- Moisture in a sensor plug bridging pins
- Poor sensor or ECU earth
- Faulty sensor feeding voltage back into the line
- Internal ECU fault

Look for chafed wires or amateur repairs in the engine wiring loom. On the scan tool, several sensors reading high or at maximum at the same time point to this supply.
