  • Car left standing for long periods with the hybrid battery very low
  • Unbalanced or worn battery modules
  • Natural ageing of the battery from age and mileage
  • Faulty battery temperature sensor or battery control unit

  • Engine warning light and hybrid system warning
  • Shorter electric-only running and higher fuel use
  • Petrol engine running almost all the time
  • Weaker acceleration, especially uphill
