P0650: Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) control: circuit fault
The ECU detects a fault in the circuit that lights up the engine warning light. Usually the bulb or LED, the wiring or the instrument cluster.

What P0650 means
The ECU is what switches on the engine warning light when it finds a fault. This code means that light’s circuit is not working properly, so it may not warn you about other faults. At an inspection, a warning light that does not come on with the ignition is usually a fail.

Switch the ignition on without starting: the engine warning light should come on for a few seconds. If it does not, use the scan tool to check for other stored codes, as the light is not showing them to you.
