P0607: Control module performance
The engine ECU finds that it is not working as it should in its internal self-checks. It may be the power supply, software or the unit.

What P0607 means
The ECU runs constant self-tests to make sure its calculations are correct. This code means one of those internal tests has failed. It can be caused by an unstable supply or buggy software, as well as a physical fault inside the unit.
Most common causes
- Poor battery or unstable voltage
- Engine or ECU earths making poor contact
- Moisture or corrosion in the ECU plug
- Outdated or corrupted software
- Internal ECU fault

How to check it
Check the battery voltage and look for other supply-related codes. If several codes appear together, give them all to the garage, as they help show whether the ECU or its surroundings are at fault.
