The security gateway

Since 2018, Stellantis group cars have a security gateway so that only the manufacturer’s tools can write to the control units. On those cars Final OBD reads everything, but it may not be allowed to clear faults or change anything. Older cars don’t have it.

Can I clear the fault codes on my Peugeot?

Yes, with Pro: it reads and clears the faults in every control unit that answers, not just the engine. Clear them once the fault is fixed; if it’s still there, it comes back. On models with a security gateway they are read all the same, but the car may not let you clear them.

Can I reset the service light or do the maintenance on my Peugeot?

Not yet: for this make the app doesn’t have service functions so far. It does read faults from every control unit, live data and the roadworthiness check.

Which OBD2 adapter do I need?

Any ELM327 type will do for the basics. For every control unit and the Workshop features, a good one, like a vLinker or an OBDLink. It’s all in the adapter guide.

Does it help with the roadworthiness test?

Yes, for the OBD part. It reads through the socket what the Spanish ITV test centre reads and tells you whether you’d pass under its official manual. Full details in the ITV and OBD guide.
